A few months ago I received a request to make some comments about “treating disease”. The following is a portion of my answer . . .
Treatment of an illness is really about understanding what the body is trying to communicate to us. Most of us treat our bodies like machines – we feel that if we give the body fuel, it should do everything we demand it to do. (Of course even machines require more than just fuel – they require regular maintenance!) However, if we consider that our bodies are NOT machines, but rather energy beings that include spirit – what I call the Essence Self - we have an opportunity to see things from a different perspective.
Most of us do not really give our bodies the consideration that we would give most strangers on the street. If we choose to shift our perception to think of the body as the densest portion of the energy being that we are, then we may choose to eliminate illness and disease before they manifest at the physical level. After all, it is the physical level where we experience physical pain. By the time illness and disease have manifested at the physical level, they have moved through the entire energy being. In other words, we have had "signals".
I believe that illness occurs primarily because we have chosen not to listen to the messages that the body has sent for a long time. Either we have “forgotten” how to listen, or we have misinterpreted the messages, or we have deemed ourselves unworthy of taking the time to make the necessary adjustments to create an environment in which illness and disease cannot thrive. The “lessons” behind the disease could be as simple as learning to pay attention . . . OR the disease could be manifested to assist in steering us in a more appropriate direction . . . OR the disease could “test” our perseverance in preparation for something else.
Each experience that we choose to bring into our journey offers an opportunity to understand a spiritual lesson. If we dwell upon “getting rid of the physical symptoms”, then we may miss the opportunity to learn the spiritual lesson . . . and in the future we may manifest yet another illness or disease to allow ourselves another opportunity to understand. On the other hand, if we embrace the experiences that we manifest, and attempt to understand why we choose to bring them in, then we give ourselves an opportunity to grow from the experience and to exit the dance altogether.
Many blessings for EMBRACING and UNDERSTANDING the lessons,
Frances
